anyone have good laptop recommendations?

i'm starting in "university" (of applied sciences whatever tf that means) now, i'm pretty unimpressed with the performance, battery life, display, size and weight, etc etc of my old t440p

the things i really like are the nipple and the repairability ig

i love routers so much

before and after a factory reset (+ config restoration so idk what the problem even could have been)

Can someone tell me more about this tangled.sh thing, i haven't really understood

How does atproto relate to a git host, what are knots, etc

"nix fixes this". yes, it fixes everything, your will to live, your bad cooking skills, your boiler that only works when its hot, even your soggy socks.

Holy shit nixos is so fun too, just started a major repo refactor to untangle home manager and nixos modules again

Why did i ever try to leave

ok i feel like it's easier for me to just make nixos work again than to switch to bazzite or aurora or whatever

finding some potential solutions to the steam gamescope issues rn

Has anyone figured out a good way to install a lix into an ublue image at build time (i'm using blue-build but that's probably irrelevant)

I've tried an ostree state overlay or a janky /var/nix bind mount

finally got fed up enough

probably could have just reinstalled and that would have magically solved the problems or something, but i just couldn't bother

having some minor issues with setting up nix to deploy server updates, but i can just boot back into nixos quickly for that

Thinking about leaving NixOS, maybe like a home manager + bazzite (based image) type combo would work if that's doable

Does anyone know how to fix fish? By that i mean removing the stupid right arrow to autocomplete the last matching command, i just want to use up and i lose my mind every time i open a regular terminal instead of eshell

Do i need to switch shells?

how feasible would it be to set up the nix package manager on an immutable fedora based distro

Org babel deployment "script" for my website

It's made with the leptos rust framework, i build a docker image with nix and crane

I couldn't get docker login with gitlab tokens reliably working for whatever reason, and i was getting tired of manually copying it over

Emacs is awesome

Hi #nix witches and wizards, is there a good way for me to copy the type of another option?

I want to be able to apply an attribute set of user options normally set through 'users.users.' to a list of n users, but i don't want to manually update the user settings option definition
