www.theguardian.com/commentisfre... Those of us on the Left need to up the ante. People need to known that the Right want to destroy the NHS, leaving the ECHR will leave THEM with no rights, and being effectively a pariah state will mean government sanctioned thugs on the streets.
The Democrats are in deep trouble in the US – and Labour is on the way to joining them | Nesrine Malik
When millions of once-loyal supporters become disillusioned with a party, there can only be one result: electoral disaster, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik

Israel bombed a hospital.

Rescue workers and reporters rushed to recover the dead and the wounded.

Israel bombed the hospital again. Live on TV.

Read that again.

Our government’s legacy will be its complicity in crimes against humanity. End all arms sales to Israel, now.

Love love love the fact that while I am rereading Gone With The Wind, for the first time in nearly 50 years my friend @sevenpitches.bsky.social is walking the streets of Atlanta and sending me pictures of places in the book. Her Hometown.

The weeks seem to go by at such a rate & every time that #SundayMorning comes around again, I am always taken aback! Here's "Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road" by Cecil Osborne from 1929: it was in the first Group show at Alex. Reid & Lefevre galleries. #CecilOsborne #EastLondonGroup

The very low tide on the Thames returned her this morning near to us on the Isle of Dogs I knew about this early today but was reluctant to post until confirmed. I hope her family find the peace they need and know that the residents of the Isle of Dogs will hold her memory in our hearts

Finally sorted out my Bruce life as I wasn't sure I could make any gigs this year to celebrate 50 years since seeing him at Hammersmith. But yes thanks to a Bruce bud, I am going to be FOS at Anfield 7th June. That will do for me. #Marysdresssways

Love this as I often travel up and down the Mile End Road. Also in the picture Sunday Morning Farringdon Road is the painting underneath. Both great paintings.
This is "Mile End Road" by Elwin Hawthorne from 1930. We were extremely lucky to be able to borrow it for our recent exhibition @BowArts because, prior to that, it had not been seen in public since 1930! #ElwinHawthorne #MileEndRoad #EastLondonGroup #fridaymorning

I was lucky enough to see Clem Burke play twice. Firstly, in a small club in Bond St, when he was drumming for Michael Des Barres, and then a few years later for Blondie at Glasto. He was a huge presence on stage and never gave less than his all. Will be sadly missed.

Lovely to see this on a glorious sunshine day on the Isle Of Dogs
With the clocks going forward, I'm all "out of kilter" so, somewhat later than intended, here's "Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road" by Cecil Osborne from 1929. It is in the collection at Brighton & Hove Museums #CecilOsborne #EastLondonGroup #ClocksGoForward #SundayMorning

Thanks to the wonderful @barbaranadel.bsky.social for coming out to the Isle Of Dogs today at Cubitt Town Library to talk about her books. he is an incredibly entertaining speaker and a massive supporter of libraries and she helped in our campaign to save this really important Carnegie library.

Always remembered and this wonderful painting by Albert Turpin is a reminder of that awful day. #stairwaytoheaven
Today is the 82nd anniversary of the Bethnal Green Tube Disaster on 03/03/43. Very sadly, 173 men, women & children lost their lives on that day. Here is "The Entrance to Bethnal Green Tube Station" by Albert Turpin who was elected Mayor of Bethnal Green in 1946. #LestWeForget
