LA is pretty sprawling and medium density outside of the city proper. The thing is, we also have a massive immigrant community and a strong sense of local pride that's second to none, a lot of it built on top of the regional gang culture that's still bubbling under the surface.

Corporations basically operate as mini fiefdoms and follow many of the same structures. You can trace many capital owners back to nobility families under feudal systems.
The biggest difference is capitalism is open to the merchant class, and they're not tied to any specific plot of land.

I would argue capitalism saved the underlying structure of feudalism by democratizing it.

They did a whole episode w/ Hila recounting her time in the IDF, including the Ramallah raid. There wasn't much for her to tell, she sat in the truck while the team harassed and arrested a random family...which she found exciting.
