Since I speak fluent Trump, let me explain this. Trump announced his Golden Dome thing without checking with Canada. He can’t do it without Canada’s cooperation. Now Canada is using it as leverage in trade negotiations. So dumbass Trump is clowning to find a way to make it work.

Fun fact: Democratic women make up only 22% of the House of Representatives, but have submitted 52% of the 537 amendments to this heartless reconciliation package.

We’re almost 20 hours into this rules debate and still bringing the heat 🔥 and the heart ❤️ to this fight!

ICE is worse than the Gestapo.

It is indiscriminate, incompetent and cowardly.

From what I have seen, the Gestapo didn’t hide their faces.

Also, 75% of detainees are either the wrong person, a person legally here, or a person in the process to be legalized with no criminal record.

ICE needs
You know you’re winning when you post “We are NOT the Gestapo!”

Yes! I highly recommend ProPublica, among others. Those are actual journalists doing what needs to be done to educate the public in this moment instead of watering down their reporting to preserve flimsy access.
Do we have anyone now doing what the Washington Post used to be? It seems like everyone big enough to be impactful is too corporate to risk doing journalism.

Even *if* you accept Stephen Miller’s (textually, historically, and morally indefensible) claim that undocumented immigrants are not entitled to due process, you’d *still* need due process to ensure that the individuals at issue are, in fact, undocumented.

His argument fails even on its own terms.

Chris Van Hollen has pointed out that because El Salvador is a member of the ICC, not allowing Abrego Garcia access to legal representation is a violation, and places ES dictator, Bukele, in possible legal jeopardy, as well as possible legal sanctions.

Quick point. Congress can use the spending fight in September (remember Chuck Schumer surrendered till then) to prevent a single dollar from being used to house prisoners in El Salvador.

Breakdown of what just happened. Judge Boasberg

1) Finds probable cause of Trump officials' criminal contempt of his order to turn back flights.

2) Gives USG opportunity to "purge" the contempt.

3) If not and if DOJ will not prosecute, he "will appoint another attorney to prosecute the contempt."

I'm pretty sure that the incredible stress involved in being an air traffic controller becomes intolerable after 25 years. The physical and mental toll must be horrific. It's astonishing to me how many decisions are made in this administration by people who have no idea what they're talking about.

Merwil was, in fact, in the United States legally — from Venezuela, seeking asylum.
