I like videogames more than I like most people
79- Mega Man 5

Probably the least interesting to me of the classic MM games so far. A lot of the bosses felt awkward for me. Beat is a great addition to the series.

It feels very similar to what came directly before-- makes sense given how fast these came out back then!

78- Mega Man 4

Truly wild it took them 4 games to introduce the iconic charge shot on the mega buster. Overall a solid game! I really love the opening cinematic and how they went for a bit of a twisty story in this one. Not my favorite classic MM, but I enjoyed it!

77- Mega Man: The Wily Wars

A really fantastic compilation that even acts as its own unique entry in the series. I honestly wish more remakes took the approach this game did-- it made the original trilogy feel much more cohesive!

It's so cool this game became more accessible in recent years!

76- Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Not exactly what I wanted it to be, but I respect the approach this game took to letting us pull the curtain back a bit on Zelda's time in the past

Calamo and the Knight Construct are excellent. Cadlan is my fav

Special Post-- I HAVE COMPLETED THE NATIONAL POKÉDEX!!!

All 1025 mons caught thanks to help from my closest friends in life.

I'm that much closer to becoming a true Pokémon master-- something childhood me could only dream of!!!

75- Pokémon Legends: Z-A

It's surreal to play a modern Pokémon game with respectable performance 😂

I really enjoyed the gameplay loop of the main story, and it was super fun to raise a team and explore Lumiose.

The postgame has some huge issues imo, but I still had fun completing the dex!

74- Hades II

Just a total banger of a game!!! Improved from the first in every way. That said, it really stands out as a nice complement to its predecessor-- rather than a small-scale, interpersonal drama, you get to jump into an epic, large scale war of gods and titans. It's excellent all around!

73- Silent Hill f

This is honestly not the kind of game I would usually play, but I made an exception for it since it's written by R07.

It's very good! I can definitely tell where the R07 vibes come from, even beyond just the superficial parallels to Higu.

Overall a solid game, just not my style!

72- Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Star Crossed World

It's always a delight when Hal puts out anything Kirby-- they are so consistent! This extra mini campaign is a great excuse to enjoy the NSW2 improvements, and I really enjoyed how many dope new tunes were made for this.

Now make a new game!!

71- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

Took me many, many years, but I finally finished both NSMBU and Super Luigi U!

Honestly, it's a shame the series got oversaturated and this was harshly overlooked, it might be my favorite of the NSMB games. Luigi U also has a ton of great challenges!

70- Hollow Knight: Silksong

After the agonizing wait of... *Checks notes* 4 days, I finally got to play Silksong 😂

Took 42 hrs for all endings as well as a ton of great optional bosses and platforming challenges.

An absolute beast of a game that I feel *extremely* satisfied to have overcome.

69- Pastel Parade

Super charming and fun rhythm heaven-style game. It's not just a clone though-- it really establishes its own identity with the cast, humor and aesthetics. Very happy to support games like this!

68- Hollow Knight

A truly splendid game.

Where I can struggle to connect with other metroidvanias, Hollow Knight got its hooks in me by rewarding my curiosity at every turn.

It's gorgeous, fun, satisfying and positively generous.

Now I get to chew on all the lore as I look forward to Silksong!

67- Iwakura Aria

Holy SHIT

what the fuck did I just read!!!

Wild VN. Tons of suspense and intrigue and interesting, disturbing romance. It's an intense, painful work. MAGES brought it, as always, with the music/visuals and then told a craaazy story. I'll be chewing on the ending for a while

66- Sword of the Sea

This game radiates otherworldly beauty in every inch of its lush, vibrant world. It's the sort of game where I had to stop on several occasions to just soak it all in. In every way, it is stunning.

65- Hop 'n' Marty

It's fun! I always enjoy the occasional short, sweet, simple 3D platformer. Has a few control issues (namely, my camera controls kept getting inverted) but overall it was a good time. Nice use of ~$10

64- Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight

P5's OST is a great fit for a rhythm game, and I'm glad this got made. It would have been nice with a more fleshed out story, but it's still a very fun time with the cast and the great music of P5!

And with that, I've cleared all the Persona dancing games!

63- ghostpia Season One

Weiiiird game (in a good way).

Utterly fascinating, really. I love the beautiful art, visual effects and lo-fi vibes. I'm very interested in the mysteries set up here, and I will check out the eventual season two!

62- My First Gran Turismo

An absolutely stunning game, visually. It's a great little free appetizer for those on the fence about GT7. I wish there was an OutRun or Cruis'n game that looked this good.

This will probably also be my last Gran Turismo. It's too realistic feeling for my tastes!

61- Toree Saturn

THIS

GAME

FUCKING

OWNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A total thrillride to 100%. Siactro ups the bar with every new release, and this is the most delightful, fun, addicting one of his games I've had the pleasure of playing.

Just a total gem, with a god-tier OST. Absolutely worth the wait!

60- The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-

Wow... What a massive, fascinating game. I didn't get anywhere near all endings, but I saw enough to feel satisfied with the story.

There is a deeply compelling narrative here, wrapped up in a fun SRPG and an impressively dense VN. I'm glad I played it!

59- Split Fiction

A very solid co-op experience that continued to surprise and delight me and @arrispect.bsky.social with tons of variety in gameplay ideas, level designs and great core character writing. Very silly and earnest. We're more interested now in checking out past works by this studio!
August 8, 2025 at 1:15 AM
58- Donkey Kong Bananza

Simply put: a new classic. Some of Nintendo's best developers firing on all cylinders, full of ideas, creativity, and OHHHH BANANAS!!!!!
August 5, 2025 at 12:57 AM
57- Soul Calibur II

I absolutely loved this game as a kid, but I sucked at it!

As an adult, I still suck at it! But I did clear the story mode as Link 😎

The weapon master mode is a really cool way to tell a unique story within the limitations of a fighting game. And the core gameplay holds up!!
