No money for Medicaid or SNAP or museums or schools or sidewalks or gun violence prevention or art or libraries.

Always money for war.

It's hard to celebrate National Library Week when your libraries are under attack. Defunding IMLS is already taking books off library shelves. /1

It's National Library Week. The Mississippi Library Association isn't celebrating
It may be National Library Week, but in Mississippi, while some local libraries are celebrating, the state Library Association is not. Here's why.

ALA is deeply concerned by reports that IMLS is sending notices to libraries claiming to cancel grants that are required by law. This harmful action will disrupt libraries' ability to serve their communities.

Library lovers, we need your help. A recent executive order calls for the elimination of IMLS, the only federal agency that funds libraries nationwide. Without IMLS, many of the resources and programs we love could be at risk.

There needs to be an email filter that allows the email through, just in case I want to see it -- but then will delete the email after 30 days if I don't open it.

Dear Congress:

Please, do your job.

Please be the check and balance needed against the insanity that is happening.

Represent the people. Use your power before it is gone. Push back.

Warm regards,
A concerned citizen

Even if you’re mindful of your spending and savings, you may still lack important financial literacy skills that could make things more difficult than needed.

To address this issue, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) has created a financial literacy page
The IMLS Wants You to Be Financially Literate
Improve your money management skills with free online financial literacy resources

Let’s talk about Direct File.

It’s a free, easy way for people to file their taxes directly online with IRS.

You keep your tax refund — rather than paying $150 to a sleazy tax prep company.

It’s more efficient!

But these Republicans want you to keep wasting money on TurboTax.

I love this and couldn't have said it better.
Libraries matter more than ever now! They embody a beautiful & brilliant idea that we must never stop defending. The idea that knowledge is free & belongs to EVERYONE. We all need to support our libraries & librarians - especially when people seek to ban books & free thinking. #libraries #books

All I want is a reality skill competition show where instead of booting someone each week, they rank them. Nobody gets kicked off because they had a bad day or took a risk that didn't work out. You really see who the overall Best person is by the end.
