Having a birthday during chemo week is less than ideal, but sometimes you have to just pop on your silver jacket and smile through it.

Chemo has got the better of me. I'm not going to the Villa tonight.
It shouldn't feel like such a big deal, but it's the first thing cancer has stopped me from doing and I just feel so defeated.
Hopefully a strong team and a win. I'll be cheering on from home. 🙏

My cancer treatment starts today. A week of radiotherapy, then a two week break (falling nicely over Christmas) before I begin chemotherapy on 6th January.
Still upbeat and looking forward to getting started.

Re: Emi's potential availability tomorrow, goalkeepers actually play on with broken fingers pretty regularly, often aided by a custom glove that allows them to tape the injured digit to a healthy one for added support.
Don't be surprised if Adidas are scrambling one to him as we speak.
