Outliers are extreme. I use vim _because_ I saw someone use modes, not in spite of. I've had vi* on my machine my entire life and did not care until I saw that. Immediate relief/joy dropping nonsensical VSCode shortcuts for contextually appropriate mnemonics!

so linux is Fine if you absolutely stay to the rivers you're used to. the problem is everyone has *at least* one waterfall to chase.

it’s worth doing a proper test with a proper audiologist - there might still be a reason for contextual processing challenge. If you tap out of conversation in noisy spaces now it can lead to cognitive decline with age
