Agreed. She should clearly rule it out. Then at some later date she should do it immediately without announcing it.

I hope the move goes well for you, Richard, and that you are happy in your new home.

I wouldn't go so far as saying all parking should be nationalised but government enforcing one national app for pay by phone parking would have been a good idea. Not too late but I don't see much sign of willingness to centrally tackle stuff like this with the goal of making our lives easier.

You are right, not so challenging but it is rather pretty 🙂

Malcolm's game together with a few historical notes (that you will already know) is here, 9th from the top, if you are interested (click on the diagram). It's a very entertaining game and one could write pages of annotations on moves 17 to 19 alone!

I have passed this article and your other two on Worcester College for the Blind on to one of our club members, Malcolm Day who played one of R H Bonham's students back in 1957. I am sure he will find the articles very interesting,

The knight on e6 is threatening Nf8+, so if White starts with a mundane move there will be no mate in 2. The knight cannot be captured nor pinned and White cannot set up a discovered checkmate with Rxf8 in response. Therefore the solution must start with a check by White.
