Ultimately, Bluesky just kinda feels like a hat on a hat. Like maybe the concept has run its course and we are trying so hard to make it work still. The community here seems so up-it’s-own-ass about not being X or Threads.

The thing that bums me out about TikTok is that I have an active episodic story running on a side account and I don’t get to finish or really move it. I’d have to start over. You can’t just interrupt the in-character part of it to tell people to follow you on YouTube.

All of this fascistic shakeup of social media (along with the influx of AI) might just usher in a new age of personal websites and blogs again. I kinda miss those days. Maybe it’s time to put my domains to good use.

I remember the utter excitement that FB and Twitter used to have for me. I got to reconnect and find people into my weird stuff. I DO have fond memories of my FB groups having big convos about books. It’s all memory now. All the platforms have fallen and this one feels like a raft made of sticks

Honestly, if this platform doesn’t work out, I’m retiring. It’s all I have left and maybe that’s not a bad thing. I’ll just go back to yelling at strangers and forcing them to look at pictures of cats I have in my pocket.
