I don’t understand why that’s the key point. If the stains on the ground are human blood, which seems to me more likely than not, what does it really matter if it was a year ago or a month ago? It would still be true that we’re sending people to a facility where large amounts of human blood…

By the end of that year (when I wrangled a job at a neighborhood bicycle shop) I knew on some level that capitalism could be as bad as communism. Because that was hell.
