Back in the glow ✨ I’ve been quiet here, but the past couple months I did my first juried show, rigged an Arduino setup for a plasma sculpture, and started apprenticing with the Plasma Yoda.

Plasma mystery! 🕵🏻 This concha seems to hold a vacuum and it powers up with a single electrode transformer. However it doesn't power up with transformers for two electrode pieces.
Maybe the path is blocked in the glass? I'm a bit stumped.

#OnlyBeautifulThings This foster father who takes in only terminally ill children. Together with his wife (and even after his wife's passing in 2015), he's fostered over 80 children in 25 years, giving them a much deserved home and love.

I made a backup of this piece in case one went awry, but both made it and I filled this with krypton gas!
I love how twitchy krypton can be. I'm looking forward to adding more phosphors to my work since that adds more color possibilities.

📢 Just listen to those raw buzzy sounds. ⚡ Filled the second (back up) anime piece I mentioned yesterday! This is a mix of krypton and neon.
While I like the look of the first piece better, I like how much more interactive this second one is.

Anatomy textbooks have included and excluded this body part over time, so I figured I’d… uh, point it out to them again.

My favorite plasma piece yet! Ever since I saw boro beads in plasma panels I’ve been wanting to experiment with creating a manga/comic book feel. Pretty happy with this one. Hoping to experiment with different characters and expressions.

Day 15 #ArtAdventCalendar is an oldie but goodie, a large-ish (2'x3') charcoal drawing of two teapots. 🫖🫖
This was part of an assignment to experiment with inanimate objects. I enjoyed playing with the reflection from the super shiny teapot.

I made the glass figures inside and Wayne made the container using a glass lathe and filled. Gas mixture is his secret recipe, what he uses for his giant plasma globes.
