I’m Kate, a queer cartoonist & designer. I’m currently working on a gothic western comic about Baba Yaga, but generally enjoy making spooky (sometimes violent, sometimes spicy 🌶️) things.

Just a little panic. Finding skin tones so hard in watercolour??? I use the usual mixes from other paint mediums but it never feels right. Initially went to dark but salvaged it a bit and now it will be slow glazing (assuming my brain allows haha)

Completely dismayed/horrified at how many MTL non-voters knew nothing because they rely on all their info to come from TikTok. This goes into a longer dread/horror I have over how people WON'T engine search and just give their power over completely to the whim of the algorithm.

Thinking a lot about trying to do the next Baba Yaga chapter in ink and watercolour (digital pencils though). Been enjoying a return to traditional media, even though the work is slower and it scares me to think of lagging on updates etc.

I’m late to the news but so sad to hear of the passing of Daniel Naroditsky. His youtube videos were such great resources for me getting into chess. Honestly FIDE should be ashamed for not doing anything about Kramnik’s incessant bullying.
