Welcome to my struggle. Reply guy. Dying inside and out.
I don't think the neck was intentional. I think he was shot at center mass. Shooters hopped up adrenaline or less practiced jerk the trigger and pull the shot to the right. I think it was almost a miss.

I got to take my wife out too. That's her mid shot hitting a tank hull just at a mile away.

I've had the privilege of shooting some of the military's dedicated long range weaponry like the Mk13 MOD 7, Barrett MRAD, and the Barrett M107. I'm still an iron sight snob for mid range rifles, and agree. That looked a lot like a basic .223 or 5.56, I guess we'll find out more as it comes out.

Wait, so the previously reported "shooter in custody" was just a person of interest, and we're back to suspect at large territory?

Jokes aside, it's likely that this was nearly a miss. Shooter was likely aiming for his head. A common mistake in hobby shooters is jerking the trigger which pulls the shot down and to the right.

Yea, one of the vids they were fireman carrying him to an SUV with him limp. I'm sure he was gone seconds after that neck shot. Honestly not a bad way to go if you have to die by gunshot. Your brain drains of blood so fast you likely don't process pain for long.

From looking at the multiple angles of the shot, the way it tore into his neck, it looked like a rifle round. Just my speculation. People from the high ground shot looked to the right as well, making me think it was likely a rifle based on range alone.

I'm talking about an old school M-16A2 battle axe, although my fav of all time was from my final deployment: the GUU-5/P or CAR 15 Commando. It was the spiritual predecessor to the M4.

A headshot at 200 yards is iron site territory for most people with even the slightest bit of training and a touch of acumen. - source three tour combat vet.

I gave up my body & my mind for my country and then my marriage and what did I get? Total irredeemable devistation on all fronts. I didn't even get the genetic do-over of kids. Our line dies with us. The "winners" didn't learn a thing and are losing worse than I will and we all get to suffer. Fuck!

Most armies march on their stomachs. An army of rapists marches on something else from their epidemic homeland...

Trump administration incompetence and it's leaks are an ally at this point. Mad appreciation for Whiskey Pete and his drunk late night Signal tbh. May the curse ever be in democracies favor. Fuckin moron.

Despite my greatest efforts, my depression seems to be working in a pack and we had a Jurassic Park "Clever girl" situation tonight and it got the best of me. Now I'm crying in bed with the dogs alone at 4am.

I'm glad I have friends like you to reach out to when I'm like this.
