I just had a first: real political talk with my conservative sister. Lots of, “It’s interesting you see it that way; I have different info and have never heard or seen that,” ON BOTH SIDES. My takeaway: feeling unheard led to the frustration that led to all of this. Breathe and listen when you can.
I practice this even tho it it takes a lot of patience.
