You thundering fucking moron, SNAP benefit distribution is a casualty of the shutdown! That’s why the courts had to get involved to force distribution in the first fucking place!

Sorry not sorry I’m too busy trying to actually put food on my damn table *right now* to pat you on the head and tell you your little fantasy of a crushing underdog Dem attack that unilaterally saves the ACA will happen any day now.
That battle was lost last November.

My cookie? You think my colleagues and being furloughed or on work reduction for the last 40 days is a “cookie”??? We’re suffering now, something we did not volunteer for, and you call us selfish for wanting it to end?
The fuck is WRONG with you.

Everyone’s vote is an unknowable enigma. It’s a basic legal right!

I said it once already: Dems have no leverage to force the subsidy renewal. NONE. That’s what being the minority party is! A promise of a vote is about the best they’re gonna get!

It gives me no pleasure to say that this was also true of Bill in 1992.
(Less facetiously, it was also true of Obama in 2008.)

Do you fucking think every currently-furloughed federal employee, who has been out of work for forty days, spends their evenings sipping on caviar and sipping champagne from hand-wrought crystal glasses?

They make processed protein bars out of crickets. I’ve had ‘em, they’re good, no risk of crunchy exoskeletons involved.

Dems have no leverage to force the subsidies extension. None. The best outcome is an agreement to a vote. And "Trump was going to fire them anyways" as a rationalization to keep the shutdown going and federal service employees out of work is just fucking evil.

We just won elections on Tuesday! The midterms are *a year from now*! Do you think they can keep the government shut down, and all of those people out of work, for a YEAR?!

Hey man, what class do you think all the furloughed federal employees who've now gone 40 days without a paycheck belong to?

I don't believe a word of that. I think you're a big phony who thinks it's hip & cool to act like you've got skin in the game, because at the end of the day this is all just one fun thought experiment for you, and you have nothing of substance to say to people are doing the actual work.

This is a dodge. How specifically are you being impacted by the shutdown? You made the claim, now back it up please.

I'm a federal employee (contract) who is facing a work shortage this month, and a full stop next month. Half my coworkers are at 0%. Since you're happily opining that we should continue suffering for the greater good, I think I deserve to know what specific skin you have in the game.
