I'd suggest that any author who signed foreign rights contracts with Harlequin should look at them and check if there's an AI clause. Personally, I wouldn't sign without one. All authors should insist on a no AI clause in perpetuity. Contracts should state that there will be human translation.
French publishing house Harlequin decided to use AI translation instead of human translations.
All their freelance translators (some of whom had been working with Harlequin for +30y!!!) were told they would no longer receive work from Harlequin
