This is very relatable, nothing worse than starting a new show only to immediately be confronted with an obvious future couple. Like why do we always need a young romance??
kind of isolating experience to be into kdrama but
1. not into men
2. not into young people
3. not into romance as a genre

Nothing worse than finding out someone you talked to a lot is actually a bad person. Cause we don’t talk anymore but I still get the desire to!

As I've been saying over and over on our book tour for The AI Con, the inevitability argument (including in the form of "AI is here to stay") is an attempt to steal our agency. We don't have to accept that and I encourage everyone to refuse it.

I cannot emphasize this enough: Please do not use AI tools as therapy. Not only is it not a good replacement for actual therapy, but your chat logs could be shared with the government, and I don't think you need a reminder that especially right now in the US, that could put you in danger.
AI therapy is a surveillance machine in a police state
Big Tech wants you to share your private thoughts with chatbots — while backing a government with contempt for privacy.

Going back to school in September and it sends a shiver down my spine hearing students use AI. I fear it happening around me. Should’ve just graduated from uni all those years ago to avoid it
Talk to students about the error rate, environmental costs, labour, surveillance, eugenics, techno-fascism, security, so they have a say in their future; don't leave it to the AI industry to define it. None of my students used bots last term.

Opinion: Society Really Started Going Downhill Once They Stopped Making Rich People Villains in Kids Movies
There’s no denying that the world is going to hell in a handbasket, and everyone has their opinion on why that is. Well, I’m here to tell you the real reason: they stopped making rich people the bad g...

Had to update windows and I’m so sick of seeing copilot!!! Why is it everywhere?? Hate it here!! I’m about to go back to paper correspondence only
With @parismarx.com on this...done: "Amazon is full of poor-quality goods, Facebook is flooded with AI slop, Twitter is a right-wing cesspool, Google sacrificed its trusted reputation for confidently incorrect AI Overviews, Microsoft is forcing generative AI on its clients, and the list goes on."
Silicon Valley’s alliance with Donald Trump has brought me to my breaking point with US tech.

I’m going to keep pushing for governments to get serious about digital sovereignty, but in the meantime I’m looking for non-US alternatives — and will have more on what I’ll be using instead soon.

My least favourite part of all this hyper futuristic stuff with robots is they just fantasize about it!!! Like hypothetically our robot could blah blah like yeah I can also pretend like my pile of clay one day could rise up and do tasks for me too who cares!

Tech bros making the rest of us suffer from their mpreg desires
From a forthcoming paper on the religious roots of AI where I argue that AI is rooted in religion not science, faith not skepticism: AI "has long animated its technology by appealing to religious rhetoric where men imagine themselves as gods birthing human-like machines."
