Because I’m a complete plant nerd, one last fun fact for the day: Spanish moss is not actually moss (or lichen). It’s a bromeliad, so it’s, uh, related to pineapple? Which never ceases to amaze me.

The saw palmettos are the real show-stealers though. Considering they take foreeeeeeeeverrr to grow, these large stands are just. Extremely impressive.

I’m fascinated by the standing dead trees (snags) here. They remind me of driftwood. Just thinking about all the years and rain that must have shaped them.
