Advocating for Cleveland and public transit. Build a light-rail connection from Shaker Square to University Circle to the Cleveland Clinic. Just two miles of new track!
Great video! Here are some up close shots of that Budd RDC diesel self-propelled car. CVSR used to run it all the way to Canton.

They should have just called The Pitt “NewER”.

Why was the Chicago O’Hare multi modal transit center / rental car facility built backwards? It is a LONG walk from the terminal transit station (red) to the Metra station (blue). Terminal transit and bus bays should have been on the east side to enable shorter walks to Metra. Stupid design.

I just saw an RTA Red Line train, green line train, and blue line train all on the RTA viaduct at the same time. Fitting for leaving an @allaboardohio.org event. Pictures are bad, but you get the idea.

Hey #Ohio - there are three new state-supported Ohio passenger rail routes in the Corridor ID Program. Which would you use the most? 3C&D, CLE-Toledo-Detroit, or Midwest Connect (Chicago - Fort Wayne - Lima - Columbus - Pittsburgh)? @allaboardohio.org

This is one of my favorite newer acquisitions at the Cleveland Museum of Art.

I did some digging and found the ENTIRE northeast Ohio commuter rail study from late 2001 online. Imagine passenger rail connecting CLE-AKR-CAN; Lorain-CLE-Lake Co; CLE-Solon

I want this on Chester Ave from downtown to University Circle. No need for 3 car lanes each direction. 2 car lanes & 1 protected mobility lane would actually increase throughput (bikes lanes can carry way more people) AND improve safety for ALL users (by reducing speeding). Photo from Seattle

One way that the proposed Passenger Rail Ohio 3C&D could be even more useful would be feeder bus lines; for example, a coordinated bus from Crestline east with stops in Mansfield, Wooster, and Canton, turning north to stop at CAK airport and Akron, then again to the east to Youngstown.

The primary focus was a downtown subway under Huron Ave, then under Euclid Ave, surfacing in the CSU campus area and continuing east as surface-level light rail (similar to the Shaker Lines in Shaker Heights). Here's an example surface station.

Did you know that Cleveland's Euclid Ave HealthLine BRT originally was proposed as rail rapid transit? Imagine taking a Red Line train from Ohio City over the RTA viaduct and then directly down Euclid Avenue to the Cleveland Clinic. Here are some of the studied routes (circa 1990s).

I’d love to see an Automated People Mover (like the one at DFW) at Boston Logan airport connecting all terminals to the Blue Line station & rental car facility. Bidirectional travel around loop would be better. Think of how many shuttle buses this would eliminate. #BostonLoganInternationalAirport

From last summer - I love the DC Metro so much.

From last summer - great bike lane (DC). We need this in CLE. The parked cars provide additional protection, but there is sufficient spacing to minimize the risk of getting doored.

All I want for Christmas is for the GCRTA Blue Line to connect Shaker Square to University Circle & the Cleveland Clinic via grade separated light rail. Adelbert Rd alignment best serves CWRU & University Hospital. Car-free/light connection from housing to jobs & services!

Good bus service does more to reduce emissions than battery buses, because an agency can’t buy as many w. the same funds, resulting in less frequent service. Any push for battery buses MUST be accompanied by increased capital funding or it is a net negative on emissions.

My favorite screenshot from that roundabout video: “Roundabouts deliver improved safety: 39% fewer vehicle collisions; 76% fewer injuries; 90% fewer serious injuries.”

And I like this version even better - follows Adelbert Road to better serve UH and the heart of University Circle
