All of this info is public to begin so, sure. Again, this isn't set in stone. We are seeing the feedback and we have more to come, these things don't happen in an instant. And I think it's funny/ironic that initially people BEGGED for these features to be behind a login.

We're not "collecting" your data. We're authenticating you via Bluesky's official authentication service. I understand that these features didn't require a login, now they do; that's the long and short of it.
November 16, 2025 at 9:05 PM
It is still free, all you have to do is log in. You already log in to Bluesky. Also, it's a free service that isn't ran for free.

There are features that don't require a login. 9/10 a user of Clearsky has a Bluesky account, which is why we are using it and also leveraging the Authorization and authentication technology that Bluesky already offers. We don't plan on making Clearsky only accounts right now, that could change.

I understand some people may not like the reason why, but it has been answered. To test at scale and reception.

I literally answered that in this thread reply:

Yes. This was partially a test to gauge reception and implementation at scale. The current featureset behind the login isn't permanent.

Thank you for your support! We're currently not using any permissions or accessing any data, and I understand it's trust me bro right now until the new permissions are available.

We feel comfortable adding it now because of the security behind the implementation. And I understand and am not offended if people choose to not log in.
November 16, 2025 at 3:11 PM
(1/2) I understand. It's a growing pain right now. As soon as Bluesky has updated documentation and implementation for granular permissions we will drop to the lowest set. FWIW, we have pushed off logging in for a long time because of this issue,

And what people were begging for initially.
November 16, 2025 at 2:32 PM
This is fixed now.
November 16, 2025 at 12:27 AM
I'm not at my computer right now. I'm IRL busy and providing services for free. Unless you're saying you volunteering your time to help fix the issue right now, it will get fixed when I am able to fix it.
November 4, 2025 at 8:17 PM
Understood. Now, also tell that to the many other applications with bugs in them as well.
November 4, 2025 at 8:14 PM
Or, there is a bug. We're working on it and appreciate you bring this to our attention.
November 4, 2025 at 8:08 PM
Thank you bro!
