If you missed it, here’s the interim Principal talking about substantial future job cuts at University of Dundee.

He refers to the number of job losses recommended in the recovery plan. This is 390FTE with 340FTE via redundancies.

We believe redundancies are not necessary. #SaveHE #SaveDundeeUni

Oh look! Our Interim Principal is modelling lying for a living. At the risk of cutting his employees’ living.
Yesterday our interim Principal, gave evidence to the Education, Children and Young People Committee.

He stated that he had never ruled out redundancies.

Judge for yourself.

Our members have voted to support industrial action to fight against job cuts passed today!

In the ballot our 72% of members were in favour of strike action, and 90% in favour of action short of strike. Turnout was 58%.

Thank you to all members, reps and officials for helping us get the vote out.

Let’s call a spade a spade. Or as they say in Armenian «Ծուռ նստինք, շիտակ խօսինք»։ (let’s sit crookedly, but speak straight)

Our Union rejects the latest so-called recovery plan.
Visit our website, and read about our strong opposition to the recently rejected University Recovery Plan: a plan created by the short-term team in charge at University of Dundee.

August 4, 2025, five years after the Beirut Port explosion.

Questions about justice fill social media today, statements about never forgetting, never forgiving. But the problem is that we still don’t have all the answers about why this non-nuclear explosion occurred…

This is so disturbing
#UK Very disturbing to hear that law firms are coaching UK universities to curtail rights to freedom of assembly and expression.
I hope the interest of this firm is not the search for profit, as profiting from the promotion of the curtail of HHRR is despicable.

*sounds the "that was probably AI generated information, that's why you can't find it and now at least 2 library staff have had to do first an initial and then a cross check of that information to confirm it doesn't exist so yes, we've had double time wasted by your time saving efforts" klaxon*

Did we win??
NO REDUNDANCIES at the University of Dundee.

Fantastic news in our fight to save jobs, as interim Principal Prof Nigel Seaton confirms that there will be no redundancies. A massive victory for everyone who has supported us.

Looking forward to receiving the removal of Section 188 in writing.

We are extremely concerned by the letter from Ernst and Young, auditors at the University of Dundee.

The letter suggests that executives submitted inaccurate responses during the auditing process.

At yesterday’s Townhall with Professor Pamela Gillies and BDO, she mentioned that Alan Langlands taskforce would pave the way forward, including new procedures to appoint senior managers.

Due to the exclusion of Dundee UCU from the taskforce there will be no academic voice or input. Disgraceful.

Cory Booker just spoke for 25 hours straight about defending democracy. Here's why we’re not clapping.

— In 2019, he backed anti-BDS legislation
— In 2019, he told AIPAC: “If I forget thee, O Israel…”
— In 2021, he pushed normalization with Arab states—at Palestinians' expense
