It's like cooking your food for too long. Your brain is cooked. And you're trying to fix it by cooking it more.

It turns out that working towards meaningful goals, engaging in real-life activities, and not scrolling social media or the internet all day are beneficial for your mental health.

Not following anybody on any social media has been useful at limiting distractions. There’s less incentive to scroll and get sucked down.

However what I’ve been coming to terms with is that this stems mainly from FOMO and insecurity.

This social media protocol I’ve been using for the past month has been great.

Limiting the apps using screen zen (and hiding them) + cold turkey on the computer.

Haven’t felt the pull to use any of them - though it’s mainly due to the mindset of “post, don’t scroll”/“create, don’t consume”

The best feeling is when you’re almost done a video. And then you’re excited for the next one.
