TAI concert report: screamed my lungs off, danced my feet off, and jesus, the contrast with the 10-yr anniversary tour is huge, they all seemed so happy & thrilled to be playing together again. they promise a new album next year, & one of the new songs had me clutching my chest over all my ~feelings

made a decisive action to fix a very minor work fuckup no one i interact with regularly will ever know about; feel like i am about to crawl out of my skin. it's funny, you'd think confidence and anxiety would be opposites, but they're really not.

the beautiful children (pleasant & personable young adults) who i work with are all asking what i (as someone older than them with a film-adjacent job) think if la la land.
not only have i never seen la la land, but i have never seriously considered doing so until now, because of them.

meeting w/ my academic writing buddy today where i just had no idea what he was talking about in his paper, all of his quotes came out of nowhere, unattributed and uncontextualized, & i tried to talk about it in a helpful way without being discouraging, but i think he walked out feeling kind of bad

nice to know i've at least still got it in terms of food service appeal -- i decided to give applying to theater jobs a rest today and look and see if there were any cool little barista gigs going begging, and i got a reply to my first chatty little cover letter in less that four hours

my superpower is that when i get a job rejection i can use that energy to fuel sending off six new applications in the next hour and a half. unfortunately, this time around, this tendency has not yet managed to get me hired.

the trouble with interviewing at a theater i've gone to and am on mailing list and calling lists for is that now i can't ignore any of their emails or calls in case ot's about a job, but all they want to do is sell me season tickets
