I second Mothership. If space is not somewhere you want to go, there is another system built off MOTHERSHIP’s bones set in a Studio Ghibli Nausica-inspired world called Cloud Empress. Another strong recommendation.

I love it. Solo is fun and pretty friendly. Team is also fun but much more competitive. And yes, playing solo puts you with other solos, so you aren’t overwhelmed.
