Only thing that worked for me was dedicated writing time.

I schedule two appointments weekly with myself at work. I clock out, write for an hour and clock back in.

Because it happens when I am already in a productive mindset I don't waste time waking up my brain.

Came up with an opening for a #noir.

Mawtbourne was a carcass of a city. Not a single home in its proper state. Most shops had closed, and those who were still open had transformed into neon-screaming monstrosities, fighting over the patronage of the last inhabitants.
