I walked over there today and took the blue bag and a load of other litter. Went back later and it had been replaced with a white one 😤

My friend thought we saw an eagle at Walthamstow Wetlands yesterday… 🦅

These are absolutely brilliant! Do you mind me asking what your setup is? I’ve become obsessed with trying to get a good kingfisher photo 😂 I even hired a longer lens. But I still didn’t manage to get detail like you’ve got! I need to get closer, or even longer lens! This is my best effort so far…

This photograph is absolutely brilliant! I think the photographer should enter it into next year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition 🐀 ⚽️

Absolutely beautiful!!!! I got some more photos the other day. Couldn’t get close so had to crop in so much I lost all the detail 🙈 need a longer lens.

Saw a seal swimming in the Thames on the way to @rspb.bsky.social Rainham Marshes 🦭

They have a scope set up in the visitor centre and you can see seals basking on the opposite shore. There was a pup splashing about at the water’s edge 🌊

This is the outfall I mean. I often see them fly in and out of there or perched nearby. Well perched until I try and take a photo then they fly 😂

It was by the outfall under Spitalfields carpark. I’ve seen them fishing there a few times. Here are some even worse photos I took at the same spot last week 🤪 maps.app.goo.gl/4g8q1t8UeJZa...

Kingfisher last night by the River Lea. Still not managed to get a decent photo of one! @londonkingfishers.bsky.social

Sent this photo to my mate this morning and he replied, “This reminds me of so many pics I get sent on Grindr.” 😳😆

I saw this beautiful and unusual brown and white female mallard. Do you think it’s a leucistic mallard? Or maybe a hybrid with a domestic duck such as a Pekin? #birds #ducks #birdID

Testing out my new lens in the garden, on its widest aperture (2.8).

Close up of the pellets.

I was standing on the bridge watching a heron fishing in the Lea, when it suddenly took off. I’m always awestruck by the size of their wingspan and unexpected grace in flight.

I spy a long-tailed tit hidden in the hawthorne.

Little egret and what looks like the remains of some prey?
August 23, 2025 at 1:20 PM
It seemed to be preening itself, stretching out its feathers and scratching with its talons.

I saw a kestrel perched on a lamppost, and as I walked over a magpie chased it away. But luckily the kestrel landed on another post nearby and I managed to get some photos before it flew off. #birds #birdphotography #londonbirds #nature #wildlife

A cormeront flying above the river at magic hour. Love how the sun is glinting on its beak. ✨

To put this in context of how far away it was and how tiny kingfishers are, this is my original photo shot at the full focal length of my lens – 350mm (525mm full frame equivalent). I cropped it, denoised in Lightroom, and brightened it up a bit.

I finally managed to get a photo of a kingfisher!!! I know it’s not the sharpest - it was far away on the opposite river bank, and low light. Definitely not up to @londonkingfishers.bsky.social high standard! But I’m absolutely over the moon!!!
