The radio show about the collision of music and baseball: the walk up song. Hosted by https://dubseasparks.bsky.social. Coming soon to the Seattle airwaves?!?
Been traveling and watching baseball. Tigers game today in Detroit. Charlie Morton’s warm up song was Jason Isbell’s “Palmetto Rose”. Respect.

I did not realize that these announcers were 17 year-old kids going into their senior year.
Ugh…announcer on this Kid’s Cast just suggested a Kanye West song as a walk up song. Nope nope nope.

We don't really do enough to adjust for era when comparing ballplayers. Christy Mathewson was a great talent, sure, but he also pitched at a time when there was zero risk of hearing John Fogerty's Centerfield

Awesome choice! Bill Withers got to throw out the first pitch here in Seattle a few years back and when I saw it was commemorated with the tops now card I absolutely had to pick it up

My #MLBPlayerRespect for the Mets goes to Sean Manaea, who uses Grover Washington Jr. and Bill Wither’s “Just The Two Of Us” for his player song and has done so since 2022. Definitely an unexpected pick, not a classic walk up song by any stretch of the imagination.
#MLBPlayerRespect for the #SEAvsNYM goes out to #Mets OF Juan Soto. Only 26, Soto has been one of the best hitters in baseball for years with a career slash line of 281/417/528 an OPS+ of 159. Even in a “down year” Juan has posted an OPS* of 151, accumulating 4.5 WAR so far in 2025. Truly remarkable
