Justice Sotomayor dissenting on birthright citizenship case: "The gamesmanship in this request is apparent and the Government makes no attempt to hide it. Yet, shamefully, this Court plays along. Because I will not be complicit in so grave an attack on our system of law, I dissent."

Units tests to code are like markings to a road.

Sure, you can drive without them, but it is so much comfortable to see them.

You turn, still see the road markings - and you know you are on track.

And just like that, the ‘No New Wars’ people are all-in on a new war. Proving yet again that they really believe in nothing other than what one man tells them to believe today. Which could be different tomorrow. The very definition of a cult.

Cost estimate of Senate tax cuts is out!

On an apples-to-apples basis, the Senate GOP tax bill costs $4.2 trillion, $403 bn more than the House.

However, the Senate has fewer (still some) "temporary" measures.

Take that into account, and it's more expensive, but the House is EVEN more expensive.

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

When Trump said, Iran is ‘very close’ to building a nuclear bomb—it was a self-own.

We wouldn’t be here if Trump hadn’t backed out of the Obama Iran nuclear deal.

Republicans say they’re targeting just criminals and gang members.

Bullsh*t.

They’re targeting anyone who “looks illegal," and it will only get worse. They need to make their 3,000 a day quota no matter what.

Here’s a reminder of Trump’s campaign promises.

The war in Ukraine is still going strong and war in the Middle East has broken out.

Promises are meant to be broken if it comes from Trump’s mouth.

If Harris had been elected instead of Trump, there would be hundreds of thousands of children who hadn’t starved to death or died of treatable AIDS and we wouldn’t be on the verge of war with Iran. Anybody who doesn’t acknowledge this as a starting point has nothing to say worth hearing.

Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.

Mr. Antiwar President has us inches away from a Civil War at home and a nuclear war abroad in defense of an ally that is starting random hot regional wars to detract from its ongoing genocide. I’m sure all of this will just naturally cool off.

Tonight, I introduced legislation to stop Trump from from leading us into an illegal war with Iran.

Another war in the Middle East could cost countless lives, waste trillions more dollars, and lead to even more deaths, more conflict, and more displacement.

Now that we’ve seen the full Senate text, we can say for certain: either the House or the Senate version would be the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in a single law in history.

Each have the largest Medicaid and largest SNAP cuts ever. And each give huge tax cuts to the rich.

The Senate bill aims to effectively end all civil rights lawsuits against the federal government except by entities rich enough to potentially pay million/billions in fees.
