Multiply this experience by 10 Allison and it's the sort of thing that can tragically turn new vegans off sustaining it as a lifestyle and ethical stance. Micro aggressions to vegans are real! Carnism really does impact us all, doesn't it? Whether you need them or not - sending hugs 🤗

Absolutely. We have an unsubstantiated theory that shame and the tension between the idealised self and the confusion of not aligning with your own values brings up anger, defensiveness and fear. Hence many meat eaters behaviours 😉
