It wasn't to be for #readingfc, but we would have bitten off the hands of anyone who offered 7th at the start of the season. This group of players has done incredibly well, given the off-field shenanigans, and there's a special bond between them and the fans.

Starmer needs to get shot of McSweeney, stop sucking up to Trump, stop trying to appease Labour's enemies, and start listening to what people want and need - and not just Reform-slanted Red Wall focus groups. Basically, he needs to grow a pair and start doing the right thing.

Sorry to be controversial, but the trans debate is getting a hugely disproportionate amount of attention at the moment, given that a tiny proportion of the population is affected. There's genocide in Gaza, Trumpian economic chaos, and benefits and services being slashed, but this is more important?😱

The British people would like to see a wealth tax. They'd quite like closer ties with the EU. I'm sure they'd like a tougher line to be taken with the genocidal genocidal Israeli state. And ideally they'd like a PM who doesn’t continually suck up to Trump. Why is Starmer being so cowardly?

Great play has been made of the supposedly inhumane treatment suffered by the released Israeli hostages because of their emaciated appearance. No-one seems to acknowledge that this was an inevitable consequence of the IDF blocking and bombing aid convoys to Gaza. #israeliwarcrimes
