Came home from church and wrote for 2.5 hours straight. And not even about politics. Today's thesis: when you convert to a church, you also convert to a culture. I am 100% at home in the church, considerably less in the culture. Doing all the right things but adrift. Still, no regrets. ❤️

Fellowship Sunday:
The day when the church puts out unhealthy snacks so that people can sit at tables and talk to people they already know.
These are tough events for me. It's a challenge to be an introvert in church. 😥

How ironic that in three days, it will be the 293rd birthday of the man who expressed grave discomfort -- he called it "pain" -- at the suggestion that he should be crowned the king of America and warned that for America to be ruled by a king would be a "calamity."
