Basically yes. We captured the main bad guy (our bounty) earlier and convinced the authorities to act (with us as consultants). If we hadn`t managed that trick, it might have added one or two sessions.

My main *theoretical* hindrances with Traveller are the seeming necessity of tracking money and equipment, and the fiddliness involving spacecraft, but in this game none of these were issues, and I'm reconsidering some of my own biases.

The main thing is that I really enjoyed playing.

There's so much old school hardness about Traveller. Not just character generation (which is still some of the most fun in any RPG), but the complete lack of any sort of luck points mechanic (something more common than not in modern games).

How dare a game's instructional text instruct you how to play the game! Next the text will order people to roll particular dice and *how many*, tell players what characters exist in the game world, and give actual rules to resolve situations.

The sheer effrontery.

Right - people saying nice things feels like it "shouldn't" be a motivation, but it can still make my day.

At present, I can't imagine the US honouring Article 5. I don't see things as going back to "normal" immdiately after 2028. And the forced increase in defence spending is a way to siphon money to US arms manufacturers.

There are two stories for the byelection. One is that Labour support has collapsed so much that they're in third place, and Plaid Cymru took the seat from them easily. The other is that there was a perceived threat ftom Reform, but Plaid Cymru beat them comfortably.

The headline reflects neither!
