Some on the right, including Elon Musk, are misinterpreting the game Dungeons & Dragons—and the intention behind its original story—to further a racist agenda, @adamserwer.bsky.social argues:

Happy Veterans Day. 🇺🇸

I served a country that has not always served my people. I put on that uniform knowing that generations of Black soldiers before me were brutalized, disrespected, segregated, and still stood watch over a nation that often denied us basic humanity. 🧵👇🏾

Spot on. As a small graphic design / marcomms business owner who often has to compete with huge PR firms (McKinsey, et al.) for clients, this hits home.

Oscar for the win.
Oscar Isaac says he is open to returning to STAR WARS but is doubtful about Disney after they suspended Jimmy Kimmel.

“I’d be open to it, although right now I’m not so open to working with Disney. But if they can kinda figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great”

I am so happy and proud that they used my painting for this. Thank you @funcom.com!

The art was painted from a screenshot I took a while back from my own game. I livestreamed it on twitch and you can find the videos here:

She was not from this world.
Hedy Lamarr was born #OTD in 1914.

In the 1940s, in an attempt to help the war effort, she quietly invented what would become the precursor to many wireless technologies we use today including Bluetooth, GPS, cellphone networks & more: frequency hopping. #WomenInSTEM

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)

They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

The answer is Convenience - that which has driven technological advancement for the last 30 years. This is its final form - the end of human innovation, agency, and thought for the sake of speed, efficiency, and apathy.
I honestly don’t get the value of this company. They hoover up energy and water. Their product constantly gets things wrong and, in extreme cases, coaches people into suicide.

And it’s all built on what seems to be malicious and vast intellectual property theft.

What does OpenAI offer the world?

Our standards of kindness, compassion, love - some might call these “Christ-like behaviors” - are eroding to nothing.
A man rushed to the Broadview ICE facility searching for his wife. They followed every legal step, but ICE took her into another room and she vanished. He tracked her phone there when the signal died. Police told him to “look up her name online.” He sat in the parking lot, weeping, with no answers.
