I enjoyed the manga in highschool and I was excited for a new adaptation. However, upon revisiting this story, I realized that this series was Patient Zero for my most hated romcom harem anime cliches. Everything people complained about InuYasha originated here.

I completely forgot that I watched this.

I probably would have enjoyed these more if each episode didn't have a 2-3 week gap. I enjoy Trump bashing as much as the next guy, but this season basically turned into Trey and Matt's spiritual successor to That's My Bush. At least Tegridy Farms is finally gone.

Why is Mike Judge the only creator who knows how to revive his shows? As people get more stupid, Beavis and Butt-head remain timeless, despite modernization. The episodes where the duo are middle aged and fail at adulting offer a neat change in formula.

Many consider this the best season since the first, and... Yeah, I agree. Vecna is a good villain, Max's arc made me care about her after two seasons of indifference, and Mike and El's subplot had a welcome change in scenery. Still don't care for the Russian plot.

This dystopian take on the Dark Knight does something new and interesting with the franchise's lore. However, it often feels too much like a '90s Image comic, and I feel Bruce Wayne being working class isn't properly utilized.

The romantic subplots really held this season down, not helped by Mike and Hopper both acting out of character for the drama to happen. The Mind Flayer plot was good, but the Russian soldier plot felt out of place. The product placement was more obnoxious than The Boys.

I guess now that the crew knew they were getting another season, this didn't feel as rushed as season 1. Vox has more of a presence than Adam did in season 1, making for a better villain with a media manipulation conflict that will always be relevant.
