We are now in a very unfortunate world where if the BBC, which already has low levels of trust in the trans community, makes a (let's be charitable) mistake in its reporting it would rather dig in and misinform than correct the mistake. We will report the matter to Ofcom and also take legal advice.

The right wing claims the corporation is ‘pro-trans’, but the people at the sharp end of its coverage disagree. The BBC must stop its attack on trans people.

Think about it - of course they have . Then there’s media attention. Judgement. Shame. They are mothers, daughters, sisters. It’s their story to tell and if they don’t want to tell it - tough. They would be branded for life for being raped .
