"Call that a cycle path?"

One of my all-time favourites. At the entrance to a car dealership.

Delighted to see my old home town of Horsham in West Sussex getting a Dutch-style roundabout!

“Bike rack” at Notcutts garden centre.

Yes, it really is bolted (if you can call it that) to a wooden fence! 🤦

We have something similar here in Norwich. On Pottergate (a major cycle route into the city) paving slabs have been inlaid into the cobbles on both sides. Makes a huge difference.

If I was to quibble, they could be a bit wider...

Getting ready for the Glow Ride on Wednesday. The feather flags from @cyclinguk.bsky.social have arrived. Just need to attach the fairy lights!

The orange line shows where the cycle path used to go before it was severed by the new road.

Where the Green Pedalway (one of the busiest cycle routes in the city) was severed a few years ago to make way for a new road (because of course). There’s now an awkward dogleg crossing. With all the new housing the road is becoming increasingly busy. A makeshift sign tells of a failure of design.

Most people are right handed aren't they? 😄

Great to see a Citroen Ami parked up by Norwich market. That's what a city sized car looks like.

It's a single track road with a speed limit of 60mph.

Utterly bonkers.

Amazing what they can do these days.

As a former petrolhead and (utterly hopeless!) racing driver, it's no surprise that Colin Chapman was once something of a hero of mine.

The early Lotus cars really were something else.

He's buried at St Mary's Church, East Carleton, near Norwich.

It's those bloody cyclists again obviously.

Up in that London so obviously had to check out those "security theatre" bollards on Lambeth Bridge. In another context they'd be things of beauty, but what a lot effort to ruin a cycle path.

(It's really hard to take a photo WITHOUT a Lime bike in it!)

What really takes your breath away is how long it is. It seemingly goes on for ever.

In London for the day where I finally got to see the Covid Memorial Wall and write a dedication to my father.

Thank you to the tireless efforts of the volunteers who made this possible. It's a moving and fitting tribute to everyone let down by those who were supposed to protect us.

Spotted this masterpiece near the UEA. Seems to sum up our whole approach to providing safe space for cycling.

Wheelbenders seem to be a Norfolk speciality.

This fine pair were outside St Andrew the Apostle church in Holt.

My preferred "cockpit". A much better view IMO.

Cargo bikes are darn useful in cities. That's four 50L bags of compost and a plant pot from the garden centre.

And I don't need to worry about hitting the school run.

As the chap at the garden centre said: "That's a mean machine!"

Got the Norwich Cycling Campaign cargo bike all loaded up with goodies. About to head off to the AtoBetter Roadshow at Sprowston. Looks like it's going to be a dry day! 😃

Define "passive aggressive".

A long-term goal is to re-open the tunnel, which would be a more direct route, and would avoid the steep climb!

The extension to the path in 2021 however isn't wearing well. Parts of it are already cracking up and collapsing. 2/2

The Crab & Winkle Way (NCN1) between Canterbury and Whitstable is a lovely route, but it's mostly gravel so quite hard work (and puncture-prone). No changes since I was last here, apart from some new barriers... 1/2

Riding the Cuckoo Trial. Lots of improvements since last here. Resurfacing, barriers removed, better signage, road markings etc. At Horam station the route now goes along the old track bed.
