As long as they get enough players on Linux, whether that be SteamOS, Bazzite or otherwise, that anticheats have to be supported - they win. I'm sure they do care about hardware but it's all a means to an end.

I suspect at least part of the reason they haven't announced the exact release date, is the release window should be close to when nVidia's DX12 performance gets fixed under Proton - aka, the last big hurdle for getting folks to Switch to Linux.
