…Emotionally though sure is a different story. I mostly reserve these feelings for the therapist or close friends, but it’s hard for me to reign in insecurity and feelings of incompetence when it comes to my writing, even if I’ve been praised for it before.

Logically, I can tell myself that whether something is “good” or “bad” or even horrifically controversial ultimately doesn’t matter (unless maybe where there’s huge investments or contracts beyond what most hobbyists even see), because there will always be SOMEONE who enjoys a piece of media.

I don’t necessarily think I could write a better version of either, but I do know being let down by media I was REALLY anticipating impacted my stuff too.

The thing is, what I’m also realizing is I’m sometimes gaslighting or second guessing myself like “Are you making some of the same pitfalls?”

I know one example I can think of is the author of Iron Widow (which I enjoyed!) basically starting after believing they could write a better version of Darling in the Franxx.

I know two examples of disappointing media for me personally are Empire of Corpses and RomeoxJuliet.

TFW the world would rather go fascist rather than go to therapy 😔

Also, there’s the references to mass death by war and climate change, but nah, “everything is totally fine among us survivors, and grief is unbecoming so go back to work” 🙌

Masking helps stop disabled people like me dying, being excluded from society, and avoids passing on this kind of preventable illness. But if that’s not worth the tradeoff for you, consider protecting yourself. Just think about if you really need your face uncovered while sat silently on a train

It’s hard to describe the scale of loss and isolation of going from busy and active and healthy to being unable to live independently or do most things.

It's exhausting trying to talk about this, but covid is still around, and the most common cause of post-viral illness like mine--

At any rate, thank you for everyone supporting me and this project so far in any capacity! 🙏

I don’t like talking about what I do, but the TLDR is that it’s heavily affected by the 🍊 admin and even without him, it’s a job infamous for secondary trauma. As I’m aging, it’s sinking in more that balancing that with a comic of this scale is a superhuman feat and I need to be gentler with myself.

I don’t have a new release date, and I’d prefer to keep that discreet for now, because I don’t want to overcommit, but obviously, given how much this story means to me personally, it’s never going to be outright canceled unless I kick the bucket.
