We've been taught to wait for someone else to make the first move. But networking isn't a game where playing hard to get pays off. The people who actually build their networks? They're the ones asking for contact information, following up first, and risking the awkwardness of seeming too eager.

the biggest obstacle isn't clients who misunderstand the work. It's colleagues who fail to create protective boundaries when things get difficult. Stakeholder pushback we can handle. Being left to navigate chaos alone by our own teams? That's the real problem.

Our polished presentations sell ideas, but they don't invite collaboration. We mistake beautiful diagrams for good thinking—and we're launching products that solve the wrong problems entirely.
