My thoughtful partner got me a number of lovely gifts for a certain annual celebration that happens around this time each year, but I can’t think of another gift I’ve gotten that made me feel the joy of being a kid again like this.

Was beyond disappointed but not surprised at Disney’s move. It’s time for Eiger to go.

Getting caught up on photography work recently, and was playing with my 105mm macro lens. This isn't great from a macro perspective, but I love how this shot looks regardless. #photography #nikon #z9

@theoatmeal.bsky.social with a thoughtful & funny write up about AI art. He makes some great points about AI in general, but it's really focused (understandably) around AI art. Good read, worth taking the time to read - even if you disagree. theoatmeal.com/comics/ai_art #terclops #floppysharts

@support.bsky.team Interesting bug - posting an image in a post from Firefox in Windows 11 seems to always be posting the image as just a black/empty post. Posting same image/text from phone app works fine. Been happening at least for a month or two. x64 Win 11 w Firefox 143.0.1

I've been involved with and using various ML models / LLMs since about 2018. There are plenty of valid, interesting and unique use cases. The way it's currently being driven by the biggest corporations? Criminal.

If folks want a genuinely fun, light read, highly recommend picking up A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking. Wonderful concept for magic, great characters, and just a thoroughly enjoyable read, what I’ve come to expect from Kingfisher’s writing. @tkingfisher.com

We’re sitting around, waiting for the car to get here to take us to the airport. Next stop: Los Angeles. Why is it before 5am?

I've been pretty heads down the last couple weeks, working on things and what's next for me from a career perspective. Lots of cool things going on and can't wait to get them settled and start to talk about it. In the meantime, I found this and wood like to share it. Don't sit on the fence.

I have a separate account for more political activism. However, I still have strong beliefs that are part of every day for me and my family. From today’s protest in Baltimore! All three of us were present and loud. This transcends sides. This is our future. #handsoff

I've mentioned other hobbies, and one of my favorites of late is coffee roasting! I picked up an Ikawa roaster (UK micro roaster - 100g), but it's been great, and even for larger quantities can be used. My most recent, a 1.1kg roast of some Costa Rican honey process beans. #gamedev #hobby #roasting

When not looking for my next gig, I do a lot of random things, including baking bread. This is a no knead recipe that I think originally was from NYT cooking. Overnight rise/ferment on the counter (about 25 hours). Turned out fantastic. Can’t wait to try it. #gamedev #makingbreac

#WhatAGameDevLooksLike is for everyone in the games industry! It’s easy: Post a pic of yourself with the hashtag and share what you do. You don’t have to be at GDC to participate. And feel free to amplify and uplift others 💜

A number of years ago, a friend started #whatagamedevlookslike . I wasn’t sure if I should post because.. well, I’m an aging white nerd and probably look not to far from what a stereotype game dev looks like. Thankfully, the industry has changed and grown a lot since I joined in 1998. /1
