Grateful to have my flash essay, "Black Ice," a glimpse into how I've observed the immigration crackdown impact the young multilingual learners I teach (and their families) in @pitheadchapel.bsky.social's latest issue. Many thanks to the editorss, especially Kate Gehan. pitheadchapel.com/black-ice/

Happy to share one more recent piece in my bounty of April showers: after a dry spell, it's wonderful to have new work out in the world. Thank you much Midwest Review editors Tara Sparbel, Jeff Snowbarger, Jill Stukenberg for including "Photophobia," a version of which is in my chap, Hemicrania.

Grateful to have a travel flash essay published in the (aptly) survival-themed Panorama: The Journal of Travel, Place, and Nature, about visiting Wli Waterfalls in Ghana's Volta region in 2023. Thank you to Matthew Webb and team for giving this piece a home.

Thrilled to present the incredible process of artist Shee Gomes, who printed and collaged hundreds of my MRI brain pics to create the cover of my dreams for my chapbook, Hemicrania. Second photo shows her "Resonance" series. Obrigada, Shee!!! xoxo😍 #louisvilleconference

So saddened to learn of the death of @daniellelegrosgeorges - I had the pleasure of attending her talk and reading at the American Antiquarian Society this past June. She was brilliant, gracious, and warm and I’m so grateful I had the chance to meet her, and to have her work in the world.

Prayer against headache to the patron saint of migraines for anyone who needs it, invoking Teresa of Avila. I love how humans are referred to as ‘worldlings’! Having insurance issues getting my monthly injectable preventive, so this comes in handy. #migrainechat

St. Teresa of Avila, Patron Saint of Headaches - and one of my namesakes. 💕 thanks to my dear friend Carolyn for this apt gift

I am so grateful that someone took the time to post this review of my chapbook, Hemicrania, on Amazon - and that they could relate. One of my hopes for this collection was that it would find its way to others that live with migraine - and that they would feel seen and validated. 🥰🤩🥹

This might have been my favorite quote from the Van Gogh immersive exhibit, which I loved!

So grateful for this wonderful blurb for my chapbook, Hemicrania, from Rita Maria Martinez, sister migraineur/chronic daily headache - she is not only an advocate for those with headache disorders but also an incredible poet who writes powerfully on the subject. 🧠

Thrilled to share this beautiful response to Hemicrania by Sarah M. Sala, who is at work on her own collection about exploring migraine (and its strange sensory impacts) through a lens of play. I'm honored and so grateful, Sarah. ❤️ #migrainechat #poetry

Carolyn Oliver is my dear friend - and a brilliant poet. Not only did she write me a beautiful blurb, but she also has provided insightful editorial input on Hemicrania. She's every bit as astute and sensitive an editor as she is a talented poet. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude 💕 #migraine
