We just alter the conditions for winning. Ex: chess: the loser selects a piece that the winner can't use in the next round. Playing without a queen really evens it out. Ex: Catan: previous winner needs 11 VP instead of 10. We also keep track in the lids of the boxes.

Other things I've learned over the years of air travel:
-Peanut Butter in a jar is not allowed, but if you spread it on sandwiches, doesn't matter how thick, it is.
-Airplane bottles of liquor are allowed if you follow the 3-1-1.
-Frozen water bottles are allowed.
-A bag of marbles are not allowed.

I still say the whole cheer when I spell it: Be aggressive, B-E A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E. I wish it were cheers like, Calm down, be chill, and don't worry, but no, I'm stuck with be aggressive.

It usually comes up when they are looking for validation for their answer. When I see this, I translate it to permission to stop thinking. The proof and exploration of other solutions is often richer than the original problem.

@sneffleupagus.bsky.social 💯! One of my pre-service teachers said it perfectly last week, "so it's more than just putting up wipebooks around the classroom, there is so much more planning that you'd realize"

That's the beauty though of the Golden Spiral - it's super accessible to anyone who can add. Once you get the concept, you can look around our world for other spirals and ask, "what rule makes that one work?"

I love this video because it debunks why nautilus shells aren't the Fib, and lots of other logarithmic spirals. youtu.be/1Jj-sJ78O6M?...

"I forgot to solve it myself, so I don't know the solution(s) yet. Once you get an answer, you'll need to explain why it works and if it's the only case that works." This started as a real situation for me, but then became one of my favorite moves.

As a researcher, it's hard to evaluate the effectiveness of a curriculum if it isn't implemented with fidelity. Also, some components of curriculum are skipped because they aren't easy to replicate (for example, discussions after a task), and then evaluated as if it was implemented with fidelity.

This is AMAZING! I'm brand new to BlueSky and needed to make connections. Thanks for this list!

14:64 is close to 12:20+20+20, so I'd add 4 scoops to each of the 20oz and then just adjust by taste. Personally, I like less mix than the recipe if it's yellow flavor but more if it's red flavor (yes, in this case, colors are flavors).
