The executive targets his opponents w/bogus investigations. His government disappears people w/out due process and vanishes them beyond reach. He usurps legislative power, controls public funds at will, & consolidates power. Loyalty is expected — or else.

Authoritarianism isn’t coming. It’s here.

The President’s unprecedented Executive Order yesterday targeting Messrs. Chris Krebs and Miles Taylor for nothing but the exercise of their First Amendment rights is the President’s most constitutionally corrupt Executive Order to date.

If you’re new to self-publishing, it can seem overwhelming. Even if you’ve published several books, there’s always something new to learn. With so many aspects, there are lots of questions.

I’m staring at the screen and my throat starts to flutter. It’s that oh-so-familiar tremor of anxiety. What am I going to write? Are they sick of me yet? Does anybody even care? Is this thing on?

And then I shake myself off and start typing.

In the mid-1800s, Chicago was consumed with building and the accumulation of wealth and wasn’t exactly known for its culture.  With its stockyards and grain elevators and sewage-filled river, and the people that poured in hoping to make their fortune, it was dirty and it stunk.

Grant Park is one of Chicago’s most beloved institutions, but creating this public space was no easy task.

It began with a simple notation on a map: “Public Ground—A Common to Remain Forever Open, Clear and Free of any Buildings or Other Obstructions whatever.” 👇

Yesterday morning I wasn't going to write because I had “too much to do.”

And then I reminded myself that I had too much to do not to write. Because writing brings me joy, and I am allowed thirty minutes of joy, because those thirty minutes fuel an entire day.

The United States Military Academy has just eliminated all Cadet clubs and activities for POC. Most of these have existed for decades like the Society of Black Engineers. They were there when I was a Cadet in 1987. All of the religious ones remain. This isn’t DEI. It’s white Christian Nationalism.

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it.

Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.

But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word.

They aren’t firing for a reason.

And this is why you should always order a proof copy!

Oopsie.

And this is also why I use brackets to mark places I need to edit. Finding all of them (fortunately, there weren't that many) was a simple search.

Follow me for more examples of what not to do! 🤣
