Thank YOU! I genuinely feel like if they undid the ending of AC3, and committed to the storyline with Desmond they were setting up, they could foster a continuously captivating modern day storyline. They need to bring it back and not ignore it. It can be as great as it used to be if they try.

I think removing it has less to do with the story outside the Animus being less interesting, and more that after AC3’s ending they had no idea what to do with the modern day narrative. Feels like they’re ignoring the concept of the Animus, which to me is the reason for the entire in-universe story.
