Then the concrete walls became low barriers, and the city spread out beneath them, a behemoth of streetlights and rooftops and high-rises and the dreams of three million people just trying to make it, man, just trying to get their big break. Caiden’s big break came just after Griffith Park, in the form of an exit ramp that lead him down into the heart of the city. A few turns, a single red light, and he was pulling up to the motel that would contain his bed, and more importantly, an outlet for his screaming bladder. He parked at the motel office and they both stumbled out of the car, stiff and sore and pee-dancing. They almost made it inside when someone shouted their names across the parking lot.

She felt like she was looking a hundred feet down, at a warehouse made to store tiny pieces of a planet. As she watched, massive mechanical arms picked out squares from the sea of tiles below. She followed the arm to the wall and saw the tracks, reinforced steel railings crisscrossing the walls of the cavernous stage, the ceilings, the two unfathomably thick support columns that held up the center of the room. The rails were everywhere, and she realized the platform that she and Caiden and Retch were standing on was being held up by a similar arm, hanging from a railing on the ceiling twenty feet above them and curling under their platform to hold it from beneath.

It's the "you guys are getting paid?" meme template. It's the same one that's used in the quoteskeeted image. The author of the quoteskeeted meme wrote "you guys have a book marketing strategy?" I stole that image and crossed out the words "marketing strategy", so now it just reads "you guys have a book?" If you've never seen the "you guys are getting paid?" meme template before, it's a picture of a kid looking confused. It's from a movie or something, I don't know, but I think it's a shot from a scene where a group of characters are comparing their pitifully low salaries and this kid comes in and says "you guys are getting paid?" so that's the joke. you're welcome. hi, how are you? Great creepy urban fantasy book about bisexual jessica jones with a coke habit fighting cosmic horrors in new york. I read the first 150 pages or so of it over a week and a half or so, and I read the last 250 pages in about two nights. But for audiobooks, I don't have to force myself to read until the book becomes a better source of dopamine than bluesky. The book becomes my dopamine drip-feed while driving or washing dishes or whatever

Work is well underway on novel 2. These are some MONSTER chapters. I think the longest Contact Day had was around 2,500 words

I just checked, and it only had five (of forty-something) that broke 2,500, and only one that broke 3k.

I'm not TRYING for longer chapters, it's just working out that way.
