Watched Bugonia. Amazing performances by cast; not dir.Yorgos's best. Partially failed by a script of tropes & social themes hit WAY TOO HARD (& too obviously) on the nose. If u've ever seen The Twilight Zone or a Cohen Bros movie, the 2nd & 3rd acts are fairly predictable.

Watched Bugonia. Amazing performances by cast; not dir.Yorgos's best. Partially failed by a script of tropes & social themes hit WAY TOO HARD (& too obviously) on the nose. If u've ever seen The Twilight Zone or a Cohen Bros movie, the 2nd & 3rd acts are fairly predictable.

Sooo, everyone was annoyed at Marvel for the desperate RDJ casting. Now that we're 3 teasers in, how're folks feeling about #Avengers #Doomsday?
Still on the fence personally—I trust the Russos & have dug the teasers, but that Thunderbolts post-credits sequence was... not good.

And, TBF, TDKR isn't really nihilistic (garbage is subjective) -- that book has SO much satire in it (see image below), never mind that, in spite of a wrapped-in-the-flag Reagan being in charge, the world seems to have a lot going for it, including a Superman who stops wars in Corto Maltese.

I just read the MOST 1970s issue of SAVAGE SHE-HULK possible (published in '81, but clearly influenced by '70s trends): A Black, female soul singer is being held back by "The Man" and swears revenge while Shulkie is out surfing and riding dune buggies w/a dude that looks like Mr. Kotter.
