Y'all remember the Wolfenstein games? No reason, just curious.
Did anyone else read the Urban Shadows rulebook and think "This game would be perfect for 1 GM + 1 player"?

I just finished my third full watch of The Good Place. Still one of the top 5 TV shows of all time and probably one of the 2 best series finales ever!

Okay, why hasn't there ever been a truly great Robin Hood movie?

The best re-imagining I can think of is Office Space.

I think the reason why Rollercoasters don't agree with me is that I drive a car with my spouse as a passenger. I consider myself responsible for my passengers' safety, so when Rollercoasters make me feel out of control, I react very badly.

If today is International Name Your Favorite David Bowie Song Day, then I will just casually mention I'm Afraid of Americans.

I don't know what goes through the minds of people who make left turns from right lanes. The bloke who made that dangerous decision 20 minutes ago nearly causing an accident with me seemed mad.

I hope he was more mad at himself than at me.

Watched the latest GinnyDi video. I'm very seriously thinking about trying StartPlaying .game to see what paid GMs can do.

#pentagon #birds
I just heard that the Momma Red-Tailed Hawk that was nesting in the Pentagon courtyard has died. All but one of her chicks has died as well.
The remaining chick has been taken by a local raptor rescue program.

RIP Momma Hawk. 😢

New buttons acquired at Intercon this March. I designed the bottom one myself.

Traveling back home from Intercon W. I played in 5 Larp and had an overall great time!

If you weren't already aware of the movie, and your mindset was on fantasy, what would you imagine Children of a Lesser God would be about?

Catching movies on streaming that I missed in cinemas:

Blue Beetle (2023) has the seeds of a good superhero film, but the side characters overact so much that it distracts from the actual drama surrounding the main characters.

2.5 stars out of 5 IMO.

Finally finished my first playthrough of Midnight's Kiss, a journaling #SoloRPG

I don't know if I got carried away or if this is normal, but I wound up writing 30,650 words = 54 pages.

I'll be starting my next SoloRPG within the week.

I got to try out another Lasers & Feelings hack on Sunday called Magical Pets.

You play as the animal familiars of students or faculty at a school for mages. Wacky low-stakes fun!

The most recent chapter of Masks #PbtA closed with one PC using their Moment of Truth to punch the villain through the bulkhead of a ship and into the ocean!

Epic #TTRPG scene.
February 17, 2025 at 11:27 PM
I fell victim to the GM's curse again:

I prepped 6 encounters for the PCs, but they only got to 1 of them, then backtracked to an encounter that I hadn't prepped!

Out of context YouTube quote:

"When they told everyone to clap for Tinkerbell, I didn't."
"You didn't?"
"Nah. She got what she deserved."

I have enjoyed Amy Schumer's stand-up comedy in the past, but I have serious doubts about her choices of movie projects.

I've just seen Kinda Pregnant (2025) and I was mostly embarrassed for all the actors just trying to get a paycheck. 3 laughs + 1 good kiss.

1.75 stars out of 5 IMO.

For all the BlueSky #TTRPG afficionados:
How does Dungeon World compare to other #PbtA games?

I've read a lot of PbtA rules, but have so far only played Monster of the Week, and I'm currently running Masks.

Time passes quickly.
This year marks 10 years since the release of:
Mad Max: Fury Road (4.75 stars out of 5)
Inside Out (4.25 stars out of 5)
The Martian (4 stars out of 5)
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (4 stars out of 5)

All ratings are my personal opinions only.

Saw the movie Companion (2025) last night.
It is an obvious companion piece to M3gan (2023) and Ex Machina (2015).

Hard to untangle how Companion spoke to me personally vs how good it is "objectively", but I loved the story it told.
4 stars out of 5.

Many years ago, I played in a Spirit of the Century campaign. This uses FATE as its #TTRPG rules.

Character creation is communal in that the interaction between the PCs is key to each PC's background.

In other games, my PC's background is very personal.

Do you feel FATE PC creation is better?
February 9, 2025 at 4:21 PM
Yay! Actual writing progress!

I'm in the last scene now. The main character has watched someone transform into a werewolf, and there is about to be a climactic fight.

Ah, good times.

Penultimate session of my Masks #PbtA game.

The PCs rescued a dude who was an innocent bystander but got transformed into a huge ogre. The guy was so grateful that they helped him that he gave them his business card and offered accounting help.

PCs R now thinking of bringing him onto their team.

Just finished watching The Decameron (Netflix, 2024).

It has just the perfect blend of 14th century comedic LARPy soap opera. I think it's the best series I've watched since The Owl House!
