Half of 600 users were asked to create a brand new YouTube account, while the other half continued to use their existing accounts with all their viewing history and preferences baked into them.

They were then periodically asked to rate their satisfaction with their Youtube experience.

TikTok was banned in India and the main beneficiary was Instagram. With the potential ban in the US, I expect the same. But here's where it gets complicated.
As any serious creator will tell you, what works on TikTok may not work as well on Instagram or Youtube.

It’s right after the holidays and I don’t feel refreshed at all.

Because I spent it trying to complete a bunch of projects that had been simmering on the back burner.

Bad idea, because now it’s the new year, things are starting up and it’s time to get moving again…

I came across a post by a 25 year old who wants to crush it at work, but also launch a business, record an album, do volunteer work, travel and pursue multiple hobbies, all in 2025.

We are a podcast and video production agency considering pay-for-view pricing for our clients in place of an hourly or per episode rate. Is that something #youtubecreators would be interested in? How much would you be willing to pay per view?

After Youtube's A/B testing feature for Thumbnails (a great feature), Instagram is now offering A/B testing for entire Reels. That's also a great feature, but the benefits are skewed heavily towards full time content creators who can afford to 2x their production effort.

I love third-party tools like @vidiq.bsky.social and @tubebuddyeng.bsky.social but now feel Youtube Studio is slowly eating away the benefits of using them. First it was thumbnail AB tests, now it's video ideas and script generation... what next?

Am making a 30-day podcast challenge for all those wishing to start podcasts in the new year.

Organising all the knowledge in my head into a step-wise plan is harder than it seems! But it's looking good and should be ready soon. I hope it helps someone get started!

Podcasting is about relatability - connecting your content to the concerns of your audience.

The answer won't be found in the classic marketing segmentations eg Women over 35, or Teenagers etc. That will result in shallow, humdrum material, great for no one.

Make a show for one, and you will attract a million.
Make a show for a million and you'll attract nobody.
