Book 14 of 2025: Victory City by Salman Rushdie ⭐⭐⭐⭐. My first Rushdie read, and I get why he’s so highly regarded. The blend of history and myth is rich and engaging, though not always the easiest read. Thought-provoking and unique definitely curious to explore more of his work #BookSky #ReadingSky

Wolfsong by TJ Klune. A bit outside my usual genre, but was curious if it lived up to the hype. While it didn’t fully click for me, I can see why so many love it—immersive writing, deep emotions, & strong found-family theme. Worth checking out if you like emotional character-driven fantasy! #BookSky

Book 11 of 2025: While My Baby Sleeps by Natali Simmonds ⭐⭐⭐⭐. A gripping, intense thriller that captures the raw stress of early motherhood. It brought back memories of those sleepless nights, but also… it’s a bit triggering for mothers. Highly recommend, but proceed with caution! #BookSky #BookTok

Just finished The Last Mile by David Baldacci ⭐⭐⭐⭐—a strong second book in the Amos Decker series! It’s a step up from Memory Man, with better-developed characters, a more engaging story, and a compelling antagonist. Definitely hooked for the next one! #BookSky #ReadingSky #BookTok

Book 9 of 2025: Memory Man by David Baldacci ⭐⭐⭐. Amos Decker’s abilities and backstory kept me hooked, but the killer’s motive didn’t quite land for me. Tempted to give the second book a try, though. A decent start, but not as gripping as I hoped. #BookSky #ReadingSky

Just finished my 8th book of 2025: The Last Bookshop in London by Madeline Martin ⭐⭐⭐⭐. A charming, heartfelt celebration of books and resilience. The war backdrop adds depth without overpowering the story. Perfect for historical fiction and book lovers! #BookSky #ReadingSky #BookTok

Just finished my 7th book of 2025: The Seventh Floor by David McCloskey ⭐⭐⭐⭐. A fast-paced spy thriller with twists, turns, and a solid ending. Not quite as gripping as Damascus Station, but McCloskey proves he’s a master of espionage. Perfect for spy fiction fans! #BookSky

January 17th birthdays: Michelle Obama and… Al Capone. Talk about a spectrum! One inspired millions with her words, the other… well, with bootlegging. Let’s focus on the less controversial one—Al Capone. Cheers to you Al #OnThisDay #HistorySky

Just finished Weyward by Emilia Hart. Loved the multi-timeline structure and the audiobook’s narration, but the story didn’t quite captivate me. A decent read, but not one that’ll stick with me. ⭐⭐⭐ #BookSky #Audiobooks

Anyone else read it? What did you think?

On this day in 83 BC, Roman general and lover extraordinaire Marc Antony was born. Famous for his speeches, battles, and, well, Cleopatra. The man could win wars and hearts—but could he make a decent cup of tea? Doubtful. 😂🏛️ #OTD #History #RomanEmpire

On this day in 1963, Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar was first published. I first read this for GCSE English Lit, and it’s stuck with me ever since. Such a haunting and beautifully written exploration of mental health and identity. Have you read it? 📚 #OTD #BookSky #LiteraryHistory

On this day in 1695, Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver’s Travels, was ordained as an Anglican priest. His priesthood clearly shaped his sharp satire. I only recently read it—such a great book! Didn’t realise he invented the term “yahoo.” Have you read it? 📚 #OTD #BookSky

On this day in 1964, the U.S. Surgeon General linked smoking to lung cancer. That’s 60 years ago, and still so many people smoke. Now vaping’s added a whole new debate. Found this old ad amusing! 🧐🚭 #OTD #History
